If you could live in any state....

...Where would you go, and why? (

Personally, I would go to Alabama. I've had it with southern California; the land is expensive, the air is polluted, its crowded, the beaches are dirty, the freeways are terrible, etc.

Many of my friends are also moving to Alabama, so I'm considering going to Montgomery or Birmingham. If I work hard for the next two years and save up, I could probably afford a house there in the $150,000 range.

You could also drown yourself in a tar pit, but that doesn't make it a good idea.

Either California or New York, after I make the decision of which one is more likely the home of money (Hollywood's trash, but trash that makes money... and John D. Rockefeller was born in New York state).

Maybe.

This thread needs a poll.

I might move to Colorado.

Alabama is a hellhole. The people are horrendous, there's nothing to do and it's over 9000 degrees on most days.

Washington State or Washington DC. I love the rain, and the scenery all over Washington State is amazing, the forests, the water, I'd love to have a place in the mountains in Washington and commute to Seattle or some other town to work.

DC is my other favorite place. There's alot of history, but it's really a modern place. Alot of the upper-class neighborhoods are amazing, I'd love to live a mile or so outside Dupont Circle (It's a bit... gay to live right in Dupont Circle), and work in the city. Although it does get pretty hot in the summer, the Autumn, Winter and Spring months are great. It also fits more in to my career choices more than Washington State does, but we'll see how it all works out.

Kentucky. I've traveled the country quite a bit and I just can't fathom living anywhere else, permanently. If I were forced to move, I would choose Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, or North Carolina.

It's also a place where you'll get stabbed by a crack addled whore for being fat and white.

We don't want you anyway.

I live in my two favorite places, so I'm cool. I guess it depends on location in the state. My home is in Orange County, and I'm going to school in NYC, so... not a lot to complain about. If it were LA and Albany, different story completely.

God I hate LA.

Yeah.

No one is requiring you.

I mean you probably think Mexicans are unwashed and aren't worth your time anyways. So why bother to care?

Alaska, Colorado, Washington, or (upper) Arizona.

Actually...anywhere that isn't California or New Mexico works for me. :D Personally, I would choose New Mexico over California though...

Nah, but really, I want to go to Washington state, looks purty.

Personally, I'm happy right here in Wisconsin :) But if I were forced to go somewhere else, I suppose Boston, Massachusetts would be my first choice, I love that place.

I love it here in Oklahoma. If I needed/felt like living in a large mtropolitan area, I'd go to Arizona and live around Phoenix, or I'd go to Dallas. I like California, but I don't think I'd want to go back there to live.

Any state that doesn't have big snow storms, tornadoes or hurricanes and has decent climate year round. So Hawaii.

Probably North Carolina. The weather is warm, the mountains are beautiful, and civilization isn't too far away.

Utah is okay. I could live here if I had lots of money. But I don't think I could handle leading any sort of "simple life" here. I haven't spent enough time in other states (I mean, outside of random recreation) to really know...

I miss the mountains around the Carolinas. They're more like foothills compared to what's on this side of the country, but I liked the forests out there more. Once you get passed the smell of boiling peanuts that is...

man... seriously unless you want to start up a low budget Pron film business dont move to California. L.A. is crap, Hollywood is crap. really even the beaches are crappy (often literally!) although if you already have something worked out then California is a good place to make your money, and then leave and live a life of luxury... somewhere else..

But also Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Fintroll, Ensiferum, Wintersun, Therion, Apocalyptica, Tarot, Children of Bodom, Charon, Amorphis, Sentenced, Tyranny, Lullacry, Tergothon and then some. These are just the ones I can think of from the top of my head.

I'm pretty sure he is going to hate on at least some of those.

And HIM only sucks if you run out of weed and eyeliner.

Kind of like how Lovecraft is only scary if you run out of opium or something.
