I keep trying to install xfire, but when I click on the installer exe it just vanishes and nothing happens. Any idea what would cause that?

Possibly corrupt exe?
Redownload and try it.
Reboot computer and try it.
Maybe your anti-virus program is blocking it?

Thats all I can say.

Tried all that. Nothing seems to make it run.

Done that about ten times. It still doesn't work.

Tracer, I have tomorrow (7-17) off, if you want to play.

Try saving it to a different directory? Sometimes when I redownload something that's corrupt it just gets the same file from temporary files or something instead of redownloading it completely.

Get into your registry and do a search for xfire. Then delete any files linked to Xfire. Or use a registry cleaning tool.

A spyware program of mine was detecting xfire as evil and quarantining it. It now works, though. :)

Not surprising, most anti-spyware programs are more of a hassle than the spyware.

Told you so. (kind of)

Well, I had turned it off so I thought it couldn't still be the problem. It was still in 'quarantine' mode, despite my anti-spyware program being off.
