ok i don't know how this is possible or if maybe it was just some static electricity thing. anyways. last night i was watching tv in my room and the cable starts messing up. so i go behind the tv and mess with the wires coming out of the cable box and the picture cleans up.

i figure im safe and i go back to my bed to watch some history channel. after a few seconds the picture goes wacky again. this time when i go to mess with the cable box the screen goes black as soon as i get near the tv. so im like 'whatever i'll just go watch my educational programming in the other room'

however a SOON as i walk away from the tv the picture is clear and visible again. i walk back toward the tv to see whats going on... and the screen goes black again. i go back and forth several times and every time i get near the tv it goes black, every time i go away from it, the picture is FINE!

at this point i'm getting kind of weirded out, im thinking this HAS to be some weird coincidence. i try several more times SAME THING! i even stay away from the tv for a few minutes and the picture is fine, then soon as i get close again it goes black!
anyways... anyone ever had this happen before or know what the heck is going on? :tinfoil:

Just go into a corner and accept it. You'll sober up from the trip in a few hours.

Your body was probably deflecting some EM waves that were messing with the cable box or TV.

Solution: Don't use ****ty AV equipment.

Don't go near the TV and watch from a distance like you're supposed so you don't **** up your eyes

A much better mystery is why you chose to format your post that way.

I've heard of mirrors breaking when 'certain' people get to close to them. Maybe it's something like that, fugly face. :downswords:

Or maybe it's the fillings in your teeth. Somehow they are picking up radio waves. . .though the cable, and transmitting your historical program into your gums. Take THAT science! :eng101:

You just stumbled across something much more expansive than you could ever understand. You will explain it away, or try to ignore it. You'll be none-the-wiser to the true forces behind what happened. That's the way it will end up, and someone or something will probably be content to keep it that way.

If only you knew of all the unreported phenomenon....

You should go to Circuit City and stand in front of all of their TV's to see if they'll give you a discount on a "broken" one.

I dunno what the scientific explanation is, but this sort of thing has happened to me. I'd get a perfect picture if I moved my hands a certain way in front of the TV or a perfect sound in front of an old radio. However, I've never heard of it going totally black when approaching it <_>
