Anyone want a lighthouse for $1?

In light of Koobie's recent poem and general praise for lighthouses, here's one for sale for a dollar. You just need to make up a not-for-profit organization.

That would be awesome.

Of course I'd replace it with a laser palace but hm

That would be so much fun to own. I would sculpt that sucker to look like a giant hot dog, then fix the light to shoot straight up, change the bulbs to be neon green and pink, then hire the ghost to cage dance.

A dollar? Let me guess, they're trying to sell the Brooklyn Bridge, too....

You have to provide proof you can provide money for the upkeep, and that you can run the equipment.

It's not like anyone that is going to buy a lighthouse and then spend money on it is going to profit.

So no, it isn't going to sell quick.

It's a lighthouse. People don't buy mansions for profit do they? There are probably plenty of people who would love to work at a light house.
2007-07-22, 12:38 PM #10
You did see that it has a two story keepers quarters at the bottom, right?
2007-07-22, 12:40 PM #11
I'd take off the roof and make a 2 story ball pit, then dive from the top of the lighthouse into the pit.
nope.

I would live there.

Last time I looked, profit was the best reason to buy any real estate.

Ahh, true. But you get the idea.
2007-07-22, 12:51 PM #15
People buy mansions because they're *******s that think they need a house that large.

Seriously, who the **** wants/needs 22 bedrooms?
nope.
2007-07-22, 12:52 PM #16
I don't need a 22 bedroom house..but I wouldn't mind having one.

Being rich would rock.

I've heard deals before where people would sell their property for a buck. However, it's not so great as you would think - properties that sell for that low usually have a "massive fixer-upper" catch to them, meaning you're gonna spend a fortune fixing the place up.

You know like they say, "If it's to good to be true, it probably is!"

Oh yeah, undoubtedly. That's why you'd have to be rich to buy it.
