List of doom (more computer trouble)

Im just making a to do list because i dont feel like typing a lot right now.

Computer 1: (my computer!)

Still occaisionally get the POST error (1 long beep, 3 short)
Motherboard is an ASUS A8N32 SLI Deluxe

Swapped out the RAM to see if that was the issue. Same problems occur. Computer boots sometimes, but not consistently. if it does, it doesnt stay on long. It does shut itself down randomly still.

Another thing I noticed was that the screen gets scrambled and locks up sometimes. I just got a GeForce 7900 GT, but I dont know if thats causing that error.

Computer 2:
I swapped out the RAM in here to try with my computer. After I put them back in I tried booting, but the speaking BIOS errors say that the CPU fan failed. I checked and its still running...

I really wish I had the money to just buy a new computer and start from scratch :((((

RE: computer 1, those problems sound a lot like what killed my first laptop (especially the random shutdowns). In my case, the problem ended with a dead motherboard. I would suspect that your computer is on its last legs.

I have no idea what's wrong with computer 2.

I sure hope not, I just replaced that motherboard like 2/3 months ago... :(

Actually the first PC sounds like an overheating / dead video card.

As for the second PC, make sure the heatsink fan is plugged into the 3 pin connector closest to the CPU (usually labeled for the CPU). Chances are it's connected to a different 3-pin connector.

Video card is new... unless im just really unlucky.

The CPU fan seems to be a little loose, maybe its the CPU overheating?

this sucks .(

Just cause it's new doesn't mean it's good. From what you said it sounds like you didn't have the issue with another video card, so it makes sense.
