I've never used Vista, but isn't there a compatibility mode like in XP?

Is JK itself compatible with Vista?

If not, he could always set up a winxp virtual machine.

He is speaking truth on this. Help him or do not post.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

You didn't help him! :v:

I'd try that compatibility thing, or maybe get MZZT to post his Patch Enforcer program.

you have to have the windowed gui turned on for jk to work in vista, so if you aren't doing that, it isn't going to work

i prolly should add that JK does run i just have to pull a few tricks to make it work (even in xp compatibility mode) but for patch commander i cant even get installer to work

to get jk to run i have to open game get out of it (via:alt, tab, enter) and go back in i may have to do that 3 or 4 times as well but ill try some of your advice and give feedback

Don't they have a new fangled patch commander wannabe without all the added suck?

You COULD just create shortcuts manually to launch mods. Pretty sure thats all patch commander really does anyways.

But really though. Vista is awesome. Play better games.

No, Vista is just fine. The moral of the story is: don't be an idiot.

I prefered linux when i had it, in fact im puttin it back on when i get the disk from my bro, and since my xp disk got scrwed like a virgin at prom night I had to get vista when I got a new compy. Another prob might be that my hard drive always wants to read it as an audio disk;but the real problem now is that unless i find backup disk it doesnt matter if patch commander runs fine my JK1 disk got scratch.

Do they do something to CD's nowadays that makes them tougher, cuz JK1 was placed like all my other disk's that run fine(and i play) and it got scratched;that place being on top of compy case.

When i do get backup disk I am going to try and instead of running it in XP compatibility im gonna try running it in 98 or just play it on a compy we got that still runs 98.

You probably preferred Linux because it was geeky and "cool." Ubuntu is the best desktop distribution and it's still nowhere near as good as Windows or OS X.
