So, today a guy asked me if I'd shave off my beard for 500€.
I said yeah!

Turns out he's a streetcaster for this German show called "Das Model und der Freak". You get 500€ while for a week a hot model styles you up and buys you cool clothes.
Of course, on TV you'll look really dumb, that's the point of the show. But hey, 500€ are 500€. And getting cool clothes and your hair done and everything for free. Hard to turn down.

He took my adress and a picture. They'll contact me if they take me.

I'm just wondering: Did he cast me as the model or as the freak?

i actually got contacted by an agency to be in an avril lavigne music video. this was several years ago and before she was really well known. anyhoo i had no idea who she was so i didn't respond back.

Last year I was walking around in the plaza at NYU and there was a circle of people watching Dynamix crew (I think) bboy. I was with my school on a trip and naturally got peer pressured into joining in. It turns out that the thing was a shoot for an "I wanna be a breakdancer" episode of MTV's "Made". One of the MTV guys chased me around for a while asking me sign a release to put my footage in the episode, but I ran away before he could keep pestering me. (The reason I did not want my footage to be shown was that I actually performed quite badly <_<)

Didn't someone else here a while back get approached by the Queer Eye guys?

That's so cool Impi! Some friends of my parents were on a reality show once - apparently they got told by the crew to do and say certain things to make good viewing, but you can't argue with that kind of money can you!

Some friends of my mum were on Wife Swap once, and now everyone thinks they're barking.

You're the freak. You're not an unattractive guy, but I can see how you could be freaky under the right circumstances (all of which of course, they will control), more than 'modelesque' or whatever the hell.
