Velociraptors weren't nearly that big, and they had feathers! I am enraged by the inaccuracies!

They also didn't have human legs coming out of their arses.

Isnt that how the first people ever came about? they just dropped out of a dinosaurs butt, right?
The tips at the end of shoelaces are called "aglets". Their true purpose is sinister.

Well, kinda, in that they 'dropped out of' by 'slowly growing down out of'... kinda creepy.

Negative. Utahraptors were bigger... I believe the JP Velociraptor is technically known as the Deinonychus (I think I spelled that right...I AM A SPELLING GOD).

Wow... that looks pretty cool. In my day, animatronic dinosaurs were stationary and weren't anywhere near that level of realism.

There's a video of the actual show on youtube somewhere as well, where the dinosaurs come out and "act" in an arena. It was filmed in Australia somewhere; possibly Melbourne or Sydney.

Nope. JP raptors were Utahraptor sized. Deinonychus was like dog-size

There's a man who knows his raptors.

Wait...you're right...dammit, I swear they keep changing things on me...back in the day I Utahraptors were like over ten feet tall, Deinonychus was the midget, and the Velociraptor was as it was portrayed...

Nope. Back in the day, (when they were making JP) they didn't know about utahraptor, Spielberg thought exaggerated velociraptors would make things more frightening, and would allow the audience to see more features on them. They knew full-well at the time that their raptors were about twice the size of the real thing.

It would have to be a big dog...

It seems that the raptors have gotten shorter since I was into dinosaurs, while retaining the same length. Wikipedia mentions that the length of deinonychus's leg was originally overestimated, which I guess would account for that.

I'm serious, I remember reading dozens of books that were vastly different than what we know today...and the Utahraptor isn't exactly new...unless you mean they didn't know about it in production.

How the hell do you overestimate the length of the leg so much that it changes the overall height from three feet to six?

Spielberg began filming JP in '92 and the film was completed (editing, sfx, etc) early '93. Utahraptor was discovered just after that in '93. They didn't know about utahraptor when making JP.
