Computer upgrading question
2007-08-03, 3:39 PM #1
So I just bought an Intel Q6600 and a new mobo to upgrade my current computer, which has a Pentium D 805 currently. Will I have to reformat my SATA drives (no raid config), or can I just plug 'em in after I swap out the mobo/cpu?

On Vista at least, I switched from an AMD-FX55 to an Intel E6700 without formatting. It took it a while to reload all the drivers but it did pull it off.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Back up your files anyway.
