This video is absolutely hilarius! I ask why is she wearing a grocery bag on her head? Why was she in the closet? What is in her soup? Is there a love/hate relationship with the republicans and she's pondering the thought of voting Hillary? LMAO! I'd come out of the closet for Gladys. Politics aside, she's one very:eng101: funny lady!

I'd like to point out that changing one's views is not necessarily a bad thing.

Reading about his views on Wikipedia Ron Paul seems pretty cool. Are there problems with him?

He won't win. I think that is his major problem right there. He doesn't BS much.

Hell, he voted against some sort of award for Rosa Parks, Regan, out of principle. I bet if he ever becomes important the media will have a field day with that. An honest guy like that will never be president in this day in age.

I like how the wiki page is odd on some things. He isn't really "prolife" as he is more "state's rights" on that abortion. Just looking at his voting record here and there without looking at the reasons behind them I think will plague the guy.

He's done some very stupid things and taken some stances that were and still are political suicide. I think what makes him an idiot in my mind is that he actually thinks he can get nominated. McCain has a better shot at getting the nomination than Paul, and McCain doesn't stand a chance in Hell...

He doesn't really think he will win. His campaign was only supposed to be around four states*, until it stated snowballing.

And I agree, being honest and true to your policies is political suicide. Doesn't make it less honorable and admirable.

But what stupid things has he done? Substantiate your claims.

Quote:
Although he is still in the low single digits in polls, he says he has raised $2.4 million in the second quarter, enough to broaden the four-state campaign he originally planned into a national one.

From here. An interesting read overall.

Let's see... he wants to abolish the Federal Reserve because of his pseudo-911 conspiracy theory on economics, and wants to eliminate (this is watered down; I'm not going to elaborate) federal involvement in the school system.

He's anti-illegal immigration, but against the Border Patrol; anti-war, but supports the troops (he stole that one from the left)... he feels that we should hire 3rd parties to fight our conflicts for us. You can question it or debate it, but I'm not even going to go on and bother with more.

The guy is a nutty, fringe candidate (third tier at best), and a pain in the *** of legitimate candidates and mass-media alike. He's the right-wing version of moveon.org.

Oh, but he does have a cult following that skew all (and I do mean all) the online polls and defend him tooth-and-nail on any website that so much as dares to say something even hinting on the negative side.

Proof? This guy baited the followers, and look at his results. (language warning)

And who, pray tell, is anti-war and anti-troops? Oh, that's right. The crazies who go protest at funerals.

Basically, you set him up to either be for the war, in which case he'd be just like all the rest of the [strikeout]republicans[/strikeout] Congress, or he's against the war, but FOR THE TROOPS! which he stole from the Dems? He voted against the war from the begining, which is something most dems DIDN'T do.

Also: I have yet to see any evidence of this ron paul political cult. Has anyone discovered any of these mysterious people? I'll admit, he is more popular with the younger demographics than the older, which would mean he has a somewhat biased representation in online polls, where younger people would tend to vote more than older people, but still. Other than the mainstream media's constant accusations of a cult influencing all polls in his favor (even ones conducted by phone-in. Which means somehow, this cult managed to come up with a couple THOUSAND extra phone numbers to vote from.), I've yet to see any hard evidence pointing to the existence of this group of 'political terrorists.'

Wait. Unless... I am part of this cult... And so is JediGandalf, Lord_Grismath, and even Detty (who isn't even american! Stupid british swine.) So I guess this is where those mysterious checks in the mail are coming from...

I love how some idiot who randomly clings to a position is considered to give an accurate presentation of that position. Idiots hold all kind of positions because they are told to. Idiots hold every position known to man. At the very best this is a really, really bad part to whole fallacy.
