I've got a friend who's in the HG:L alpha and he just told me the official release date is Oct 31st. Who's ready to kick some post apocalyptic *** MMO style?

I wish the game didn't have a pay-to-play component.

I don't know how I feel about this, I was really excited when it was supposed to be free, but since they added the "premium" content for those who pay a monthly fee.. I don't know if I could rationalize paying a monthly fee for Diablo 2 meets Doom.

I'll see how the reviews pan out.

Yeah, and that sucks. Couldn't they just make it Diablo like? Damn the fact that MMOs are so profitable.

I shudder to think if we had to pay for every game. That stupid Xbox live is stretching its tendrils on to windows...

Same, aren't the dungeons instanced in a similar way to Guild Wars (free online play)?

Melee combat looks so absolutely mind-numbingly stupid. Reminds me of GUNZ meets JA meets 3 retarded kids playing king Arthur.

I won't lie, the ability to wield a pistol in one hand and a sword in the other is made of win. The actual combat itself looks to be not quite made of so much win, however. :(

From what I hear from people in the alpha the game is AWESOME (albeit buggy as hell--as per alpha.)

I'm being critical, but I really am interested in this game. It really does look like Diablo (or maye more like gauntlet) meets doom. I will have to try it.

Why don't you wait for reviews or a demo and make your own decision for the game if you're that on-the-fence about it.
