I don't hate running...

*revelation*

I thought I did...and I've hated taking the last couple of PT tests due to the 1.5mi run. We only have to recert every three years, but I'm applying for a position with another agency, so I have to go through the process again.

Well, out of the blue, I have to take another one Saturday morning (the state tightened up the physical fitness requirements for law enforcement, so I have to take it again)...so I just ran a bit over 1.5 miles to get myself back into the swing of things, as it's been a while since I ran -- I did it in approximately the time I need, with up/downhills thrown in. When I run on Saturday, it's near-flat. Hopefully I'll clear the test on Saturday, because it's for a new (fulltime) position. If all goes well, I'll end up with a conditional offer & have an awesome job before the month's end. Beats the hell out of banking. :)

Anyway, I could've pushed a little harder (will do that tomorrow)...and I ended up running a short while again, after I walked/cooled off a bit. I feel good...which is almost a surprise.

Soo, yeah. This is of absolutely no significance to Massassi, but I thought it was cool. :)

I feel awesome...tired, and I can tell my lungs worked pretty freakin' hard...but it's all good.

Sometimes I feel like running when I'm stressed or the like. Not running AWAY, just running. Helps me feel like I'm going somewhere, I suppose.

Running on asphalt and concrete is never good for you feet (but I guess some don't have a choice). Do you live next to a school with a nice running track?

Yeah, feet/back points aside, it's especially dangerous if it's a busy street. Not because of the risk of being hit by cars, but the risk of having a heart attack.

Also, you have what's called "Runner's High".

Great feeling.

I can't even think of where the nearest track would be...definitely not as convenient as running around town, though. Very small town...went to the grocery store today - in running shorts / tshirt...and some guy said something like 'not working this weekend?'...I have no idea who it was...

That generally doesn't happen after the 6-7th 10 mile death run :(

Just did another 1.5mi...I'm just about at the time I need, but I'm running with hills here - hopefully that'll make much of a difference to let me clear the test easily. I'm not running tomorrow...test is 8am on Saturday... :)
