So I'm writing a "what if" alternate history short story/comedy. It takes place in 1984, imagining that Walter F. Mondale, not Ronald Reagan, ascended to the Presidency but is assassinated (in a bizarre turn of events) shortly thereafter by an early Red Scorpion.
Mr. Mondale's Vice Presidential candidate was Geraldine Ferraro, so the untimely death of Mondale means that she must suddenly take on the office of President (as the first woman in that position, no less). Mondale had taken a less tough (compared with Reagan), "nuclear freeze" approach towards the Soviet Union and the Soviets, being misogynists, expect the country to destabilize under a woman's guidance and hope to turn the tide of the Cold War.
When Ms. Ferrarro turns out to be tougher than they'd expected, they fall back on their secret weapon. No woman, not even the President, can resist....
[ insert awkward 80's Soviet male porn star name ]
I want the short story to seem like a look at what America would be like with a "she" in the Oval Office, but actually degrade into a superficially immature but hopefully amusing satire of the modern-day pervasiveness of aspects of feminist thought.
But I can't think of any names for the commies' "secret weapon." Any help, Massassi?
