Anyone have experience with it?

I'm too cheap to buy a PDA, so I wanted to start using my DS as one (really I just need to scribble functionality to write notes with). I found one here. There are some other homebrew apps for the DS as well (but not as much as the PSP, so can it with comparisons before they start. I also know it's harder, etc, etc) so basically I wanted to know if anyone has bothered to use any homebrew for the DS and their experiences. In short: is it worth the money to buy the extra equipment for what homebrew is out there?
