Help me out with MIDI?

This is probably a long shot, but whatever. I've been practising guitar with this program called Band in a Box a lot over the summer and I wanted to burn some of the tracks to a CD to take to the cottage. Band in a Box has a render to .wav option, but I'm having a problem with my Windows sound settings.

Band in a Box says to make sure that my recording properties are set to MIDI instead of line in if I'm using a soundcard for my MIDI sounds (which I am - I don't have a MIDI keyboard or anything), but when I go into recording properties I don't see anything like that. I only have SPDIF, Line in, CD Player and Microphone. Is SPDIF MIDI? When I record using Line in I end up with a blank .wav and when I have SPDIF selected Band in a Box plays through the song and then crashes.

you can always set the recording settings to "stereo mix" in the windows sound option

SPDIF is only Digital audio. not midi. stereo mix is a kind of "what you hear" option. i don't know if all cards do but i've set computers with realtek soundcards that had that, so i suppose you do too.

It works! Thanks, Seb. You have saved my guitar practising for the next two weeks.
