If you have to use MSN - use Pidgin, Adium, Trillian, etc.

Tried reinstalling it?

When is someone going to do messenger right? All of the programs I've ever used suck major and have glaring issues. Then again, same with browsers. Bah, why do programs always have to suck?

Yeah, you should probably just get a multi-messenger. So much more proficient, but still buggy as hell.

I really don't think its the programs at fault here.

Buggy as hell? o_O
I have no problems with Trillian whatsoever.

The only real problem with programs like that is when the controlling company changes something, features break. Obviously that isn't their fault, but that's the downside to using third party solutions.

Umm... after like 20 more restarts... it suddenly stopped. Fixed I guess.

I'd get Trillian or something similar anyway. It's far less intrusive than MSN Live Messenger with its bloody annoying smilies and shakes and stuff.

Not to mention horribly designed interface. Microsoft, really, I don't need or want a chat window that, at it's smallest size, still eats a quarter of my screen at 1280x800.

ditto. I love Trillian. My only problem with it is it NEVER recognizes I have a webcam attached. So if I want to video chat with someone, I end up HAVING to use MSN.

Oh, I love the MSN smilies and animations. I collect as many as I can. They're awesome!

If I didn't already dislike you, that right there would be enough to dissuade me from ever talking to you. I have a profound distaste for anyone online who uses gobs of emoticons in IM conversations.

I used to hate it aswell, but its popular around here, and its fun, get my point across alot easier than plain words do.

Trillian has emoticons and stupid noises if you're so inclined to use them.

Other than that, you either learn to grow up or stick with your crashing PoS

Uhh.. I don't know what version of Windows Live you're using, but seriously, you don't have to use even a quarter of your screen, and my screen rez is much lower..
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

I define that as a quarter of my screen. Seriously. My Trillian chat windows are about half that size. This, is what my desktop looks like when I'm online and browsing. Always. I can see the last two lines under my browser window, it takes up a fraction of the space MSN does, displays minimal garbage options on the interface, and most importantly to me, I can stack multiple windows side by side at the bottom and see all of them quickly and easily without minimizing or moving windows around.

I don't mind MSN QUITE so much when I use my desktop since I have dual monitors set up. I'll just toss the window on the monitor that has less going on. But it's still retardedly huge.
