It's a quick read, but I really wonder if this book is for real.

I NEED a copy of that, that's too funny!

Like Roach, I too suddenly understand every element of my life.

(I can't tell if this is anti-gay propaganda, or anti-child-rape. I mean, it doesn't say being gay is wrong, or that there aren't legitimately gay people. It just says that if you were ****ed by your uncle and if your dad never loved you, you'll probably be faux gay.)

What happened to pages 10 and 11?

and 18-20 for that matter...

Were not getting the full story here.
2007-08-17, 8:42 AM #18
I say he contemplates suicide in 10 and 11

18-21 is where his father gets angry and blame him for all of his problems and reveals that he never actually wanted a son.

Is there a follow up to this book. Like one where his sister has sex with lots of random men for money because she didnt gets Dads love either?
The tips at the end of shoelaces are called "aglets". Their true purpose is sinister.

One of my english teachers in high school told my class that when he was a kid he had a children's book of The Cask of Amontillado. That's pretty damned disturbing.

Pfft, that story had a happy end. The Struwwelpeter-stories are much better.
Sorry for the lousy German

Quote:
In "Die Geschichte von den schwarzen Buben" (The Story of the Inky Boys), Nikolas (a tall, bearded man who is not identified or explained further) catches three boys teasing a dark-skinned boy. To teach them a lesson, he dips the three boys in black ink, to make them even darker-skinned than the boy they'd teased.

Wow, that'll teach 'em.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.
In "Die Geschichte vom Daumenlutscher" (The Story of Little Suck-a-Thumb), a mother warns her son not to suck his thumbs. However, when she goes out of the house he resumes his thumb sucking, until a roving tailor appears and cuts off his thumbs with giant scissors.
That one was in an episode of The Office. Dwight tries to tell the story to some kids but is stopped.

The doctor is looking a little chummy on page 16...

And I agree with Kirby. I'm not sure at all what kind of point they're trying to make with this.
Why do the heathens rage behind the firehouse?

its more like anti-gay-because-of-child-rape- and-missing-fatherly-figure- propaganda.

Struwelpeter and Suck-A-Thumb ruled! As did Hilaire Belloc's Cautionary Tales... children were much better-behaved when they were taught that telling lies would get them trapped in burning houses!

But I now know that the true touchstone of children's literature is the wonderful "Time, touch and talk".

What about gay/bi people who *haven't* had "complex life experiences?" :/

You mean like high school students who do it for attention and pretend to have had real life experience?

Oh you mean gay/bi people who had no such traumatic experience?

Well they're probably gay and bi then. I mean, thats the conclusion I would reach.
