Jaffa Cakes

I was introduced to these amazing things on a recent trip to Scotland. The taste is amazing and pleasing, but quickly leads to dismay at the fact that I only brought one box back to the US. Has anyone seen Jaffa Cakes for sale anywhere in the states? It looks like a couple websites might have them, but you have to wait for shipping there. This addiction needs fuel!

Those things are way too tempting. Even the self-control I learned through diabetes can't protect me from Jaffa Cakes.

See? Thats exactly why we have to invade the rest of the world - lack of domestic Jaffa Cakes!

I love Jaffa Cakes. You buy a box, and promise yourself you will only eat a few at a time, then fifteen minutes later your thinking you should have bought a second box...Which is all the more dangerous because our local Jewel-Osco sells them... and it's just a trainstop away.

I have the strange feeling these are something Europeans find amazing but Americans have had something better for sixty years.

Never heard of the things. But I want one.

It's like a chocolate orange in cookie/cake form.

Really good. Though I haven't bought any for a long while. I rarely buy stuff like that anymore.

It's not really orange, it's amazing orange tasting gummy stuff.

And they're kickass. I ate a yard of them once.
nope.

For those not in the know:
Quote:
Regular-sized Jaffa Cakes are circular, approximately 54 mm (2⅛ inches) in diameter, and 7 mm (¼ inch) in depth. They comprise three layers; a sponge base, a layer of orange jelly of narrower diameter than the base (approximately 38 mm), and a layer of chocolate covering the jelly and the margin of the sponge

People on Wikipedia have too much time on their hands.

Also:
Quote:
The Lemon and Lime variety is, however, generally acknowledged as being superior to the original orange variety.

BLASPHEMY!

And:
Quote:
McVitie's defended the classification of Jaffa Cakes as a cake by producing a giant Jaffa Cake to illustrate that their Jaffa Cakes were simply mini cakes.

Want.

A cake goes hard when it goes stale, therefore Jaffa Cakes are cakes. And the lemon and lime ones werent that great. Nor the blackcurrant ones.
nope.
