I was going to post this once I scanned the x-rays in. I'll post them tonight.

The good news is that I don't need surgery. I'm in a cast for 3-4 weeks, then a removable splint for 2-3 weeks.

I'm still waiting for my mutant healing powers to kick in...

I was rushing a precision jump, my toe hit the rail instead of my foot, slipped, feet hit ground on one side, stomach hit rail, hands hit ground on the other side. It's called a "boxer's fracture" on the bone that connects my left ring finger to the wrist (4th metacarpal). Fractured in two places, same bone.

Just found out it doesn't need surgery! Yay!

Cast 3-4 weeks. Removable splint 2-3 weeks after that.

Typing with one hand, and putting pants on is hard... :(

Ouch, glad to hear you don't need surgery. Hope it heals quickly.

Also, I don't think any massassian has trouble typing with one hand pantless... :P

That's why I stopped doing parkour. Though, I tend to hit my head on things more than my hands, or anything else.

Be happy happydud, at least you're still a man. That rail might have been planning otherwise :eek:

Rail precisions are hard. :(

Thankfully I've never broken anything doing parkour. I did once make my elbow swell up around a cluster of nerve endings so that I couldn't bend my elbow outside of a 90 degree angle.

No, I think it was just the impact of the concrete on the palm.

Phantom- I'm always as safe as possible when I train. If you train safe, it's no more dangerous than other sports. Safer, in dact, because you don't have other people who can accidentally hurt you.

Yes, training is key. I just don't like the thought of having my right hand broken, because the inability to draw would drive me crazy. Get well.
