Which UPS?

This morning the power went out at my house and I discovered that my UPS is toast. It just turns itself on and off every couple of seconds.

Anyway, I was all set to get this APC 650 VA UPS:

When I discovered this Belkin 750 VA for cheaper:

I've used many APC UPSes, but never any Belkin. Is there any reason I shouldn't get the Belkin?

Thanks.

The battery in your UPS might just be dead, but it would be cheaper to just buy a new one than replace it.

I don't know of anythings wrong with Belkin...they are probably rebranded units. If you aren't doing anything mission critical I wouldn't worry about it.

UPS? Is that like the opposite of downs?
nope.

Yeah, it probably is just the battery, but like you said, replacement batteries are usually like $10 cheaper than a whole new UPS. I figured this is a good opportunity to get a higher capacity one anyway.

Before I purchased my APC Back-UPS XS 1500 VA, I used a Belkin Office Series 550 VA. The Belkin worked fine, but its support for monitoring was pretty poor under FreeBSD with NUT (not to mention that I had to patch the kernel for it to be recognized properly). I don't recall how good the monitoring software was under Windows, but I remember it being usable at least.
