I've got a few first class stamps from 1998, and I'm wondering now if they're still good. I seem to remember happening upon this situation years ago, and the answer was yes, but googling for an answer just now has brought me more confustation with the 'Forever' stamp crap. :argh:

So, first class stamp from 1998, still good as first class 2007?

You can still use it, but first class stamps are $0.41 now so you wouldn't be able to send a full with it unless you had other stamps to bring the total up to $0.41. It would work on a postcard though.

It's just for a bill. All it says is USA H 'First-Class Rate'. There's no cent amount on it.

All the forever stamp is is a first class stamp bought at whatever the current rate is that will always be sufficient no matter what the rate rise to.

Oh, and my google search terms were "1998 h first class stamp rate".
