i heard about that earlier, but i just don't get how **** like that gets 'misplaced'. it isn't a danger/threat, but it just shows how bungled the UN bureaucracy is...

that story is lacking the responsible question of, "how did this just wind up there an nobody was aware of it?"

This kind of thing can happen. I remember the time I was cleaning up my dorm room at the end of the year and found three gas centrifuges and a drum of yellowcake, just sitting in the bottom drawer of my desk. Crazy.

why are they calling this a weapon of mass destruction or a chemical weapon?

one of the news articles I read called phosgene a "nerve agent." :downs:

It's a chemical commonly used for many industrial applications. Its only value as a chemical weapon is the fact that its reaction with water produces a hydrochloric acid solution on exposed membranes. Straight chlorine gas has similar effects. And it's so not even close to being as lethal as modern nerve agents, which - might I add - the Iraqis know how to make.

Don't you have to go to school to become a reporter anymore? Or do they just teach them basic English and tell them to have fun "blogging?"

You got it right in your last sentence. Seriously, in high school journalism I looked into some colleges, and then into some career options, and the schools were hardly even relevant to what they wanted. All they wanted was the ability to fiercly wield logical fallacies.
