Dual Monitor question
2007-09-01, 11:43 PM #1
So I'm looking for a way to hook a second monitor up to my box. I've been looking up vga splitters, but apparently those only replicate the image on two, they don't extend it.
The video card is an nVidia 7600 GS.

Any help?

As long as your video card has 2 connectors on it (and I'd be downright flabbergasted if it didn't, as that was kinda default since way back in the Geforce4 days), then you're set.

If you mean you have a VGA port and a DVI port, you can get a VGA<->DVI adapter. Most video cards have such adapters in the box, actually.

ok, so it had a vga and a dvi port. My monitors came with both cables.
So one monitor is running DVI, the other VGA.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

You should be able to get a VGA to DVI converter and run both monitors using DVI, if the video card supports it. That is, if that VGA port is actually capable of outputting a digital signal.
