I don't know how many of you have been following this story, but it seems to have come to an end for the time being. It could have turned out worse for this guy, but it's still worrying that an entire state could put so much effort into going after a man who has broken no laws, no matter what he says he is. Regardless of pedophilia, he seems to be a rather odd person, which may have hurt his case.

Don't worry, Jack, we won't judge you as harshly as California did.

...it's worrying that a pro-pedophile activist was looked down upon by a state?

Hmm. I'd hoped I hadn't veiled that jab at CarpKing too thickly. Nevermind :P

Carpking would make a thread like this.

That may be the most ****ed up and nonsensical sentence I've ever read.

Long story short: he's a dirty dirty man that scouted venues/playgrounds/schoolyards that had high little-girl populations, took pictures at said places, and then established not one, but two "how-to" websites dealing with how to scout similar sites and how to approach little girls there.

I didn't have to log in for that article, but Wikipedia has a pretty good play-by-play of the restraining order business: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_McClellan

He used to live in Washington (where he operated the web sites in question) but he left due to the "media hysteria," which then followed him: http://www.komotv.com/news/7987267.html

He's a creepy guy, but you can't outlaw creepiness.

You can outlaw pedophilia though. That goes a little beyond "creepiness."

Can you? I always thought that laws generally governed actions. Pedophilia is a sexual preference.

Uh huh, establishing websites to help other "creepy" men go and take photos of little girls for their own personal spank-bank is an action. Taking photos of little girls for masturbatory purposes is an action. Stalking little girls is an action.

But none of those actions is illegal, it's just creepy.

I'm not defending the guy, if I saw him myself I'd kick his balls north of his liver, but from a purely legal sense, he's done nothing wrong.

Stalking is illegal, especially if those girls' parents discovered why that man is taking pictures of them.

Please tell me that you ARE not defending Pedophiles, and their actions that have MESSED up the lives of who knows how many victims.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I actually agree with Gold.

I don't expect much from Carpking.

He's a lolicon addict, and probably has a very under age "girlfriend" from the way he talks about her.

A sexual preference usually forced upon those who can't, in most cases, consent to the sexual action.

I highly doubt a majority of people who are sexually attracted to children have molested a child. Sources now or concede.
