SP Level Contest - How's it going?

The deadline is in about 2 weeks. How is your level going? On schedule? Anything anyone needs?

Hard drive crash. Voice actors not delivering. Don't have JK CD anymore. University work eating my life. Perpetually feeling low.

Things don't bode well for TFoJ2. It's the curse of the TC. :argh:

With school starting I won't be able to finish mine on time. I'll either enter it in the second contest (if there is one) or release it separately.

I've gotten my map built, I just haven't implemented all the SP crap. I should be able to finish in time, provided I get motivated enough to polish it off.

Haha, I wasn't participating because I can't test my level in game (OS screwed up for the moment until I reinstall), but now I find myself working on a new MP level. =\ Not that I wouldl be able to finish anything any time soon. It's just real fun to edit JK.

Ask Zeq for his custom Jed, "Zed". He disabled the CD check. If you're any kind of Massassian you already beat JK's CD protection (I beat Jed's too but that's another story).

Can't help you with your other problems. :(

I've lost interest on working on my level. After working on it back to back for like 3 weeks in a row, I got absolutely sick of running through the same parts of my level over and over again so I decided to take a break. I just started school again last week so I probably won't have a lot of time to work on the level to get it done in time before the end of the contest.

It's not the CD check that's the problem. I don't have JK even installed. And without a JK CD or image thereof, I don't have any of the JK resources/the engine.

I see more "i quit's" than requests for more time :( Which sucks. I was hoping people would say that it's going well but they need more time, then I could extend the deadline, but it seems like everyone quit quite a while ago :(

I'm trying to get my parents to mail me the CD, but that probably won't go over well. Maybe I can get an image from someone? At this point I think it would be a little absurd to assume that I didn't already own the game. :P

I'm not really doing this for the contest, more for my own amusement.

My level is coming along nice. Just about finished. Tweaking and fine tuning things here and there. Should be done by the due date, but I'm cool with an extension too.

Brian, you might consider extending the deadline until like...the end of the year? Shrug...I mean, I COULD finish mine if you extended it a month, but I'd rather work at my own pace, especially now that I'm schoolering again.

Being at school also implies other things. For example, how am I supposed to work on my level when there is drinking to be done? :colbert:

I wouldn't mind extending the deadline one month, but until the end of the year is problematic. People have been working hard to get their levels done by the deadline already, extending it too far is not fair to them. If I keep extending it into infinity, nobody will finish anything. :(

I always thought people are laid back here enough that they wouldn't mind the extension. Its more about the fun of editing than beating other people at the contest.

Goit has two SP submissions: Magrucko Daines and the Crypt of Crola and Negative Gain.

Magrucko is three levels, possibly four. He was attempting to finish the fourth level before leaving somewhere, but I am not sure he finished it. Any one of those first three levels is good enough for the contest (I beta-tested them -- several versions' worth.)

Negative Gain is also almost ready (but with several bugs), in its simple non-interactive movie form. The movie is approximately 18 minutes long. I am working to transform it into "DVD format", which means it will have a DVD-like menu system and controls. There will be volume control, previous and next scene control, Bonus Features (such as viewing the trailer), Scene Selections, and an easter egg.

+1 Request for time.

I've not had nearly as much time to work on it as I'd hoped. I'm plodding away when I get the chance, but I can't see it being in a finished state by the end of the month.

Well, put it this way - if it's not done by the end of October, it's not going to be done for a long time... So don't extend it more than a month on my account.

A month or 2 would be good. SP levels take longer than general MP levels. :(

I have to be honest--I'm not going to make this deadline. My map is built, but I don't have the drive or desire to finish the cogging. I've got too much **** going on in my life right now to the point where it's just too much to sit down for a couple hours and **** with a map. I want to get this thing done, but I simply don't have it in me right now.

I'm at uni now so the forth level of my Magrucko Daines episode will probably be released after the contest, probably christmas. The first three levels however are practically ready to be submitted.

Zeq is working on DVDing Negative Gain, as he has said. The results so far are impressive. Realistically it won't be ready, but it'll be worth it once he completes his little system. He has brains, does Zeq.
