Has anyone else ever read the short story or book?

I just finished the novel and found it amazingly insightful, but the end was horribly depressing.

You mean Asimov/Silverberg's Nightfall right?

I loved the short story, but while the novelization wasn't quite as good (IMHO), it was still a great read. Defiantly one of my favorite Asimov shorts.

I think so, the name sounds familiar. I think I read it in highschool.

It's about a planet that has six suns, creating conditions of no night. It explores the idea of what would happen if night suddenly fell on a civilization of people on said planet.

I'll have to read the short...

I thought this was about the Russian vampire movie. This sounds interesting though.

But the short story, btw, gets consistently voted as one of the greatest stories EVAR. Look into it!

Oh, no I haven't read it. Or ever heard of it. Sounds very interesting though.
