USB adapters

Does anyone know of a place that sells usb adapters (not converters, just the female and male ends)?

I don't want to have to keep desoldering the ports off of USB cards or salvage them from old usb cables and I need a few of them for something I'm working on.

I've looked all over google and every computer shop I can find, but all I can find are cords, hubs, and converters for USB->x, nowhere that sells the ports alone.

I would try MCM Electronics.

Thanks, That's more than I've found through google, but all I can find there are stacked connectors, I need singles.

Yeah, same here. You could try looking for extension cables at your local dollar store, you'd get a male and a female end that way.

You mean plugs? Try these suppliers:
http://mouser.com
http://digikey.com

And these surplus stores:
http://allelectronics.com
http://bgmicro.com

Also google for "solderable USB plug" or similar. Most things suppliers sell are for manufacturing stuff. If you want a receptacle, good luck finding one that isn't board mounted. I've never seen a through-hole mount USB jack. You should be able to find easily solderable plugs, though.

All Electronics or Allied Electronics? I liked to All Electronics but there is an Allied too...

I found the link to allied in one of the ones you gave me, not sure which one though. Once I found them I bookmarked the page.
