If the choice is between those two cards alone, then yes the x1600 by a long shot.

Might I ask, why just those two cards?

i have the 1300 in my comp and the 1600 in my boys comp. i bought a new comp for the family and it has a 1600 in it. it'll be the comp my boys play their games on. i'm going to switch out my 1300 for the original 1600 as the comp with the original 1600 will be used for regular non gaming stuff.

thanks.

A large amount of video card RAM is necessary for playing at ultra high resolutions. As has been said, the X1600 is definitely the better card.

Also, what the hell, TE has a decent computer now?
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I just ordered a machine (Quad-core :awesome: ) with SLI capabilities, but am only getting one 8800 GTX at the moment. I'm not convinced I'll need that kind of power in dual 8800's
2007-09-30, 8:41 AM #9
Well noone ever would NEED that kind of power. It's just bloody AWESOME.

You would if you were running at 2560x1600 with lots of AA and AF. Actually you would need more but what ever.

Need... More? More then Dual 8800 ultras? If you need anymore then that, then you must have a time machine and are getting games from the future or something.

Meh, I'm just looking forward to playing the games I already have with max settings. My current pc is over 5 years old.
