I like how the party responsible for the violence is named the "State Peace and Development Council." Anyone else thinking 1984?

One of the stalwart pro-party government ministers visited Singapore on a state occasion and came back in tears because of how backwards Burma had become. :[

UN "peacekeepers" prolong conflicts. Or make them worse. At least it makes the UN money, though.

No, they mostly do nothing and let people continue killing each other (see Rwanda or Srebrenica for example)
