I took my first trip to a casino since I've been old enough to gamble a few weeks ago. It was kind of fun. Actually, I didn't really like it except for the blackjack tables. But man, that is so much fun when you're sitting there at the table.

Also, slot machines suck. They take your money, and take it quickly. What a waste.

I did about how you would expect for most of the time I was there. I slowly lost money over the course of the night. Then I got lucky at the roulette table. I won a street bet which has an 11:1 payout. I put five dollars in and won $55. That was the beginning of my luck streak. Then I went to a different casino and cleaned house in blackjack. I kept betting $5 (the minimum bet), but I made about 50 dollars very quickly. I got 3 blackjacks in 5 hands. Damn lucky.

Although, earlier that night, I had a dealer that got 3 blackjacks in a row. It sucked.

After I tallied everything up, it turns out I made enough money to cover the trip's expenses (gas, hotel, food) with $2.37 extra. Not too shabby. I wholly realize I beat the odds and have no intention of doing it again any time soon.

Anyone have any gambling experiences?

Poker.

I play poker online pretty much every night, and go down to the cas at least a few times a month. We have a work game that meets at the local usually 2-3 times a week also. It's more the psychological side than the gambling side of poker that I enjoy, there's nothing better than picking up a tell or a betting pattern and then exploiting it. Me and 3 of my friends are pretty decent at no limit texas hold'em, we have been invited to many a poker night and completely cleaned house, it's great.

I also dont mind a punt on the horsies or just about any major sporting event really. Gambling is fun :)

yeah, I love poker...

Not a huge gambler though. But I'm happy to put down some money for a bit of Hold 'Em.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Poker, once in a blue moon.

Used to bet on the Grand National when I was younger through my dad, too. Never won anything.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Poker is fun. I'm good online, but IRL I have many tells and people have an easy time getting a ready on me. I know the hands/odds pretty well so I usually do good against people who are new to poker.

Do any of you play online poker? If so where?

I used to play a bit of Yahoo texas hold'em, but not for money. First time I played it for money though, I won 200 bucks. I don't gamble much anymore though.

My city has a casino, so I've been numerous times since I turned 19. Slots can take your money very fast, but it's important to move around a bit. If you've blown through $5 in a minute, then there's probably no future for you at that machine. Once you get bonuses and stuff you can play for longer. And yes, I realize slot machines are purely random and people think that having strategies is stupid.

I'm a big fan of roulette. My friends and I usually pool our money, and are normally able to double up fairly easily. Vegas has some nice solutions for roulette players, video machines as well as video/real wheel hybrids (there's a real wheel with a real human dealer, but you place your bets on a touchscreen). The nice part about those is the minimum bet is usually $0.50 or $1.

nothing is more entertaining than watching people play penny slots, or quarter blackjack. those people might as well bet with chewing gum or pretzel sticks.

Or, you know, they just want to play and have fun without spending a ton of money.
