Eye Colour
2007-10-01, 3:55 PM #1
So apparently I finally have a way of describing my eye colour. Yay!

I'm told [by Wikipedia] I have Hazel eyes. They're sort of a yellowy-brown around the pupil and change to green as it moves to the outside of the iris.

So Massassi, post your eye colour.
nope.

You'd never heard of hazel eyes?

I have blue eyes.

Well I'd heard the term but always assumed it was like a shade of brown. Yknow, like the nut.

[I know what the term gets at with the 2-tone thing on a hazelnut. :P]
nope.

Mine are the same, except mine go more blue gray. They only change to green when I wear red.

Hazel. My mom had brown and my dad had hazel. Somehow my sister wound up with blue.

David bowie's eyes are actually the same colour they just look different because one of his eyes is permenantly dilated. Someone punched him in the face while wearing a ring while he was 15.
nope.

I've got blue. Wife has brown. Guess what color my son got?

Ice blue.

Seriously, though, they are very light blue. I haven't seen many people with eyes like mine

I have either green or blue eyes, depending on the weather. It's a very dramatic difference, too. I'm mostly green eyed, though.

I always thought of my eyes as being brown, but apparently they're hazel (Brown by the pupil and green at the edge)

I never know what color to say my eyes are. Like Kirby, they change from blue to green. It's confusing...
2007-10-01, 6:52 PM #16
Most glass mirrors add a green tint, which will lessen the blueness of your eyes.

Wikipedia is great. Now I know what heterochromia is, and plus those pictures they have are awesome! I wish I had it, unless it increases the risk of cancer or something.

my eyes shift from blue to green to some mix between the two - and I don't know that I would say they're one color more than another

What the hell is a 'colour'?

As for my eye color, it's brown... I hate it, a shame contact lenses require too much hassling and responsibility so I can't change it. Curses, foiled again!

That's partly true here. At elementary they had an emphasis on British English but I had started to learn English before going there and since that was mostly American English, I never started pronouncing "cant" like "Kant" and preferred to type "color" instead of "colour" (perhaps it was the extra 'u' that scared me).

Then again, I tend to mix Britishisms and Americanisms a lot so whatever. Still prefer words without the extra 'u'.

According to Wiki you can get heterochromia from certain eye drops.

My eye color is hazel, almost yellow sometimes.

I have teh green eyes. But they get some yellow every now and then. And they change from green to blue green. When I was younger, they were blue, then grey then finally settled on green.
