Superman Doomsday.

Well I just watched it and... :psyduck: It didn't really do it for me. For one i cant understand the point in not having the movie in the previous DC comics universe, with the justice league cartoons etc. If your a fan of the original superman cartoon it may take abit to get used to the new voice actors, who dont do a very great job and also the new louis lane who stinks. Doomsday himself only makes a short appearance and the fight although good in some places doesn't last very long or go anywhere. I thought doomsday died way to easily aswell . Overall it was crap. Nearly as bad superman returns.

Superman Returns isn't "bad". It's just boring. Kevin Spacey did a good job of playing Gene Hackman playing Lex Luthor and what's his name did a good job playing Christopher Reeves playing Superman.

Kevin Spacey is a great actor, I just wished they crafted Lex in the movie, as a character, to be more interesting.

It's out already? Damn, I've got to see that. I read the original Death of Superman storyline around 10 years ago and I thought it was mega-awesome since I thought Superman was just "Lol i fly lol woosh" stuff back then.

Oh well, got to put that on my to-see-someday list and still remember this one on my to-read-someday list.

I didn't even get a vibe that Routh was trying to channel Reeves in his performance, I thought he made it his own. Spacey on the other hand, even as one of my favorite actors, just seemed to be impersonating Hackman.

Yeah, exactly. I was responding to whether or not Superman Returns was bad. I have not seen Doomsday yet. I might rent it someday. I also couldn't tell what he meant by the different cartoons he was bringing up. The original Superman cartoon? That's got to be something like 70 years old or so!

Yeah, because animated cartoon shows were so common back in 1937.

I dare say there have been quite a few over the years.

1941 is the earliest animated Superman I could find on IMDB.

I guess it's all perception. To me those are [relatively] new ones and, to me, from the previews of this movie they seem consistent.
