Basically, the best handheld Zelda I have ever played.

I'm a couple hours into the single player. It has an amazing story. The new character Linebeck, is one of the funniest Zelda characters to date. The game is overall witty.
And it controls like a dream.

The online play is pretty sweet as well. It def. requires some thinking.

Sorry if this is short, I'm going back to playing, bye.

I've only played about 45 minutes (I played it between classes), but I'm really liking what I saw. The controls work very well, and the second the opening started it immediatly felt like Wind Waker 2 (I enjoyed the 1st one).

Got it at Toys R Us with the free Players Guide - that thing is quite thick for a game that's not considered too long.

If I hated windwaker, and loved LTTP, and OOT, would I like this?

It is top down like LttP, and has 3d graphics. But I don't know if you would like it or not. Why didn't you like the Wind Waker? Storyline? Graphics? etc.

I agree it was quite excessive. Of the sailing I've done so far on this though, it's much better. Quite easy to get where you want to go and much shorter times getting there.

I enjoyed the sailing in Wind Waker immensely. Unfortunately, I don't own a DS or I'd probably pick this up.

Would The WindWaker have been better if the boat was a Nazi U-Boat? Thats the original plan they had.

I like the Sailing in WW. It was a quiet elegance that most games just don't have.

Not every game has to be all action, all the time. I loved the quiet nature of Wind Waker, I loved the eloquence of it, I loved the art direction. Wind Waker catches alot of crap, but it was definitely my favorite zelda.

I'm gonna pick up PH when I get paid, I wasn't hugely impressed by it when I first saw it, but everyone seems to like it, and I'll have to check it out.

I've heard mixed reviews, but if I had a DS, I'd probably give it a shot.

Quotin' dis.

I really liked the sailing part of WW. The triforce fedex was a bit boring, but the exploration part was awesome.

Did you ever get the song that lets you teleport between the giant tornadoes? I just assume anyone who complains about sailing didn't know this exists, because it made sailing go much faster.

How is the stylus used for control? I couldn't get into games like Metroid Hunters and Animal Crossing because of the stylus controls.

I don't think so. I went through maybe 2 or 3 dungeons and got sick of it and quit. I wasn't so sick of it where I thought the entire game was lame, it just wasn't fun enough to continue with all the other things I have going on. I will probably replay it at some point. I thought the graphics and controls were awesome, I just got really bored sailing around.

You drag around the fairy and link runs toward it.
2007-10-05, 1:54 AM #18
Also the game (WW) gets infinitley better in the second playthrough where you run around in your pyjamas instead of the green clothes.

Yes, I agree. Link looks awesome with his blue lobster shirt, orange pants, and no hat.

Yeah, I hate that. Guess I'll have to skip this one.

You can barely notice you are dragging a fairy.

Despite what some people have said, I found it very challenging so far.

The part where you had to transfer the emblem to your sea chart, it took me half an hour to figure out you simply had to close your DS and open it again. I literally said to my friend out loud, "Wow, that was incredibly clever."

Yeah, petmc, that's when I would be going "WHAT THE ****, THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!" and go check gamefaqs.
I had a blog. It sucked.
2007-10-06, 12:03 AM #23
It's not that bad. It's like playing Diablo. At least the movement.
2007-10-06, 1:49 PM #24
I just got it at costco for 29.99. I'll play it on the ferry to and from work, but as of now, it's just sitting there.
2007-10-06, 2:20 PM #25
I just got the second sea chart, and so far I really like it. It's definitely the most innovate Zelda ever, and maybe one of the most innovative for DS.

My only complaint is that my hand blocks the screen sometimes.

Well I played through the first little cave thing and it's kindof cool. Not sold completely on the controls for the same reason vinny isn't (hand blocks screen). I like the map and the ability to write on it (geesh, imagine if you could even put markers on other zelda games' maps, not even text, just markers so you know when you found something but couldn't get it yet for lack of an item!).

The graphics are cool. It certainly feels like zelda already.

I think this is one of my favorite Zelda games.
2007-10-08, 11:30 AM #30
Well, I just got to a part which sucks huge nuts. For the record, I think Majora's Mask was the worst game ever made, because the whole damn game was on a freaking time limit. Now I'm playing this game, and they give me 10 MINUTES to finish a dungeon. 10 FAKKING MINUTES. WTF is up with this? Developers: Putting an arbitrary time limit does not add "suspense" to the game or any other positive features, it simply SUCKS. Zelda is supposed to be about exploration and discovery, but in this one, you have only 10 minutes to explore each dungeon. This is so stupid.
2007-10-08, 1:13 PM #31
That's the only dungeon with a time restriction.

But get used to it, you'll be back.

Anyway, has anybody managed to actually catch a fish?
2007-10-08, 2:04 PM #32
i too hate time restrictions, but the idea of "safe spots" does help this. i just got to the isle of gusts and am enjoying it. i think i agree with the previous comments about your hand getting in the way. ive always hated the sailing in WW and i like this sailing better but its still kinda lame. i wish you could still do minor course variations with the d-pad to maneuver.

I just traded some ship parts via Wi-Fi. It was pretty sweet.

Generally, players of PH multiplayer rarely dc. I have had many enjoyable games.

And Linebeck is pretty damn hilarious at times. Especially when he knocks Tetra over, LOL
