When's the best time to buy a new Mac?

I remember a while ago someone said, "Buy your Macs in November!"

Is it because there's a new OS coming out?

Well, I'm deciding to get a macbook or macmini sometime later on.
Back again

I was waiting for a new mac pro but my laptop died tonight.

Ordering pc parts on a wii is an ordeal.

Yeah, that type of keyboard (the chiclet style) was first introduced on the Macbook.

What he said. I think the rumored MacBook updates are due to come out with Leopard but if not, won't be released any later than January.

Leopard is Oct 26, I'm sure they will announce a new something, probably a pro.
gbk is 50 probably

if they do i will be crushed

well, kinda. for the price difference between a mac pro and a home-built pc, for a comparable processor to the default build you can get 4 GB RAM and two 8800 GTXes.

not to mention an X-Fi.

and the RAM is lower latency. way, way lower. don't buy a mac pro for games.

but it will never run os x.

not until macs ship with 8800s in them, anyway.

(I may or may not have run OSX on a Pentium 4 recently)
