<BSG> HOLY CRAP
<BSG> The power cable going from the controls of my chair to the back rubbed up against my XPS metal case
<BSG> A hole got ripped in the wire
<BSG> And a gigantic jolt of electricity arced half a foot
<BSG> And Fried a black circle
<BSG> on the case
<BSG> And singed my pant leg
<BSG> And now my hair is standing on end
<BSG> !

I've taped the wire with electrical tape a good 5 times over, and I'm going to the wheelchair repair store tomorrow. The chair is almost on empty, too.

That's awesome, should have video taped it.

Sucks about the wheelchair though.
I had a blog. It sucked.

I say utilize this power to forge a wheelchair that shoots huge bolts of electricity :hist101:
"DON'T TASE ME BRO!" lol

Calling shenanigans, a half-foot arc would require something on the order of 150,000 volts.

Unless electric wheelchairs use potentials of hundreds of kilovolts. I could be mistaken. But there must be something else going on here.

I could just see Kirby rolling around with a huge capacitor bank on his wheelchair

I agree with kyle90. Seems fishy. I demand a picture of this "black circle".

A half foot is an awful big stretch. It's only an inch or 2 at the most. I got it to make a crackling noise a second ago, even though it was off.

Okay, just trying to make sure the forums stay scientifically accurate :P

Well, if his case is metal, then the whole thing would act as ground. There would have been nothing getting to the electronic components at all.

Yeah, I still think the case being metal is just an excuse to boost up package price. I can't stand how heavy this thing is. I'm actually thinking about taking everything out and finding a big case to put it all into that doesn't suck gigantic zell.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Kirby could bench 300; as a dwarf he has shorter-than-normal arms which means the muscles have to exert less force to lift the same weight.

I think his main problem would be getting into a position which would allow him the leverage to lift up a computer case. He would probably have to rig up some sort of pulley system to do it.

I do not hold the world record. I've "backpeddled" this already. Don't start stat.
