scheduled to depart at 8:55am EST, coming back home to jax on monday, sometime around midnight. business class flight woot (going to be a long one lol).

flying to tokyo, then taking a train to noroto i think, or somewhere similar sounding.

i bought a miniDV cam on saturday and half a dozen tapes so ill be sure to clip together some footage for you guys. apparently the place we are going has a really cool buddhist temple right down the road, according to our CEO hehe.

naturally though, im there on business, and the company we are going to works 12 hour days on a *regular basis*, and they are working saturday AND sunday this week. from the sounds of it, i feel bad for these guys heh =/

we only get like 3-4 days to actually sit down with them and work, and theres probably only one guy we'll be able to use as a translator. lmao ooh boy xD

its unlikely i will be able to bring a camera when i go to the labs, and im not sure if it would be proper to ask; but we'll see.

later guys, wish me luck :D

Have fun. Try not to look too American. Also, when meeting people, hold your card in two hands in front of you, bow and hold it out. This is only for business people, but it's very honorable. This is only after they hand you their card, though. The superior of the two always goes first.

Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

I bet it's a lot more proper to ask than just take it there without asking. Considering the Japanese themselves as tourists do nothing but take a bazillion photos wherever they go, I think it's safe to assume they won't mind the asking part itself. Though they might refuse, of course, but it's not like you'd lose anything by asking.

Have a nice trip!
