I'm thinking about starting a stock portfolio, but I want to get as much information as possible before doing so.

Any information any of you have from personal experience, classes or by proxy I would like to know.

Personally, whenever I make shellfish, I'll save the shells or the carcass when I make turkey or chicken and convert them into stock later. It's not particularly hard, just somewhat time consuming. Make sure you label each bag separately, including a date, and keep it no longer than six months. Yes, it's slightly inconvenient, but making your own is clearly a superior option.

Learn technical analysis. Being able to read a stock chart and use its information to anticipate future trends is a valuable skill.
