It's being directed by Christopher Nolan, the director of Insomnia and Memento.

As you can see, Christian Bale is, as usual, awesome.

They are apparently trying to go as oldskool as possible to get away from the last, terrible, rubber nipple, batman movie with George Clooney.

So are they just starting over again? Or is this a prequel to the first Batman?

Ugh. After all the horrible Batman games and movies...I just have no inspiration to see this. Sucks, too, because I loved the original series (corny, but good), and the cartoon series. Bleh.

it's a prequel, but I'm pretty sure theyre aiming for a fresh start. the batsuit doesnt have any of the same characteristics as it did in the other piss-poor movies.

I love the first two, but 3 and 4 are absolutely unbearable. They're just much too colorful and ... modern. It was cooler when it had a sort of 50's touch to it. Tim Burton is my favorite director, also, so that may play a part in my favoring them. This looks more promising than the last 2.

Tim Burton had a way of taking a comic book looking city, hero, and villains and making their looks all seem reasonable on screen. No one else did that.

Word has it it's pretty much a fresh start, focusing first on the years between Bruce Wayne's parents' murder and his becoming Batman. Laim Neeson is supposed to be that guy who taught Bruce everything, and Scarecrow is supposed to be the villain, last I heard.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have an article to type up here from the new issue of Wizard. It's about the Batmobile:

Quote:

The latest Batmobile may lack the curves of its predecessors, but with guns and armor, the 'Batman Begins' ride ain't supposed to be sleak and sexy.

"It's the car, right? Chicks dig the car."
Who can forget that immortal line spoken by Val Kilmer in 1995's 'Batman Forever'? We sure wish we could. But the truth be told, we dug the car, too. Who needs a Hummer H2 when you can barrel down the streets in a Batmobile, complete with more gadgets than James Bond could ever wish for and a security system that resembles an armadillo on steroids? And can these babies corner or what? The latest Batmobile was unveiled at Licensing Show International in New York recently. This one, debuting onscreen in ‘Batman Begins’ on June 17th, 2005, has more smash and less class than its predecessors. (Still we know the chicks will dig it…) Check out the Batmobile Below and compare it to its ancestors on the next page.

In the movie, this vehicle, known as “The Tumbler”, was initially designed as a military transport by Wayne Enterprises to carry troops and supplies over water and vast open space. Now here’s a classic case of form following function, because it boasts a practical, real-world function design rather than a cool one. It’s bulky exterior reminds us of something Mr. T would put together for the A-Team. Despite its appearance, it has the ability to jump up to six feet high and is equipped with front-firing machine guns and a landing hook (like the ones used by jet fighters when they land on aircraft carriers). According to screenwriter David S. Goyer, it’s a cross between a Lamborghini Countach and a Humvee.</font>

I hope this turns out awesome, but I have my doubts. The first one was by far the best... awesome atmosphere, technology, etc... hopefull when you say "fresh start" you mean "trying to return it to the likeness of the first two" [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Yeah I agree that's pretty bad news, but the old Alfred's got to be like 150 years old by now [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif] I mean he was like 80 in the FIRST one, plus this is a prequal so he needs to be younger [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

This reminds me, if you're a Batman freak you need to go to Tallahassee, FL. There's a car museum there with the original batmobile, batbike, batboat, penguin's duck boat, and the batman returns batmobile. Not to mention TONS of VERY rare cars (like the very first Viper off the assembly line).

Why didn't they just get the Warthog from Halo? At least that would've been realistic.

That was one of the lamest descriptions I've ever heard. All they're doing is catering to the "omg l33t" people.

I liked all the batman movies, myself.

Batman has always been my favorite superhero. I own from 1 to something like 400 of the cartoon based comics, I think I got it valued at 3000 dollars. I'll never sell it.

I wouldn't actually mind a live action of Beyond, that show really wasn't bad.

Jedigreedo, it's a comic magazine. Comic magazines tend to cater to comic nerds. Plain and simple.
