Be patient. The boards aren't as active as you seem to think they are.

And sorry, I don't really know of many flight sims...

Banks and banks of humming machinery! I've never seen so many knobs. We're going to have to do something, Charlie! Try pushing that button there. No? How about that one? No, not that one either. I know! I'll try pushing this one. Hold my hat will you? Good fellow.

Commanche 3/Commanche Gold was fun.

[Edit: Or Apache Longbow? They're both old games]

I was about to say Apache Longbow. Maybe even Longbow 2. Check their requirements.

[Edit: if you've got a 3D card, try Longbow 2. It was a great game.]

Sim Helicopter. Other than that you're pretty SOL on that comp.

Try Jane's flight sims. Jane's was owned by EA, and then EA screwed them. But their games should still be available at various online stores or for download at The Underdogs. Specifically, check out Fighter's Anthology.

The old Commanche games will run very well, also.

Fighter's Anthology rocked. It had something like 200 flyable planes.

Team Apache by Mindscape wasn't bad, although a bit lacking in depth

Flight Simulator 2004. You're computer could never dream of running it, but...whatever.

MS Flight Sim 98 would run on it though.

If not FS2000, on medium-high detail. Pretty fun series.

Gunship 2000 was fun, back in the day, but it was for DOS. Not exactly a realistic flight model. But anyway, you can probably find it online somewhere, and you might be able to get it to run under Win98.
