I don't know what to get my girlfriend for her birthday...
I am 16 and she is turning 16 and we have been dating for three months...
taking all this into consideration...WHAT DO I GET?? :gonk:
2007-10-16, 7:14 PM #2
You do understand we know nothing about your girlfriend?
2007-10-16, 7:14 PM #3
I'd go with... a very nice date at an expensive restraunt, do everything to make her feel like the most special person on the planet.

BTW, what's her name?
2007-10-16, 7:17 PM #4
ok...so you want to know about my girlfriend...
she is nice, smart, beautiful, and she doesn't really do anything in her spare time besides study, and what ever I take her out to do(...movies)
I was hoping that there was some magical solution that would work no matter what...but Reid that is a good idea....
(The name will not be revieled for privacy reasons)
((and you know her name Reid))

Well, for my ex's birthday I spent a month to craft a very nice wooden fid for her. It took a lot of work and time, but little money. How long do you have, what skills do you have to make stuff, and what does she like?

take her out for dinner, that's a good three month gift when you're 16

It is somewhat unusual for a newly registered user to come and ask advice for a date or about girlfriends; especially to a Star Wars Fan forum.

dinner sounds good...I'm a musician and a gamer so the craft thing is out...
and as for the new user thing...i just wanted to know what other people have to say about this...not that this is my only source of info or guidance...just gathering different ideas i guess...

You say you're a musician, eh? Perhaps you could create a small composition or concert in honor of her sweet 16.

no offense but that would be totally lame
2007-10-16, 7:56 PM #11
If he made it an all serious pour your heart out ode kinda thing then yeah, but if he made it funny and light hearted then it could work.

Get her a hug and save yourself the strain? Any relationship based on impressing the other isn't worth taking part in. Not to mention, you're 16. Do what feels natural, and is indicative of your feelings for her. Would you say you love her, or that you'll have a very serious relationship? If so, get her something that symbolizes this. A box with a couple of photos of you guys together, and some items representing memorable times with her, and enough room for her to add more stuff? A trinket of some kind on the side is always nice too, like a keychain or something that will remind her of you that you can sneak onto her purse when she's not looking.

If you don't think it's serious, or it isn't very clear how things will go from here, take her out to something you like doing on your own, and show her why it's special to you. Let her get to know you a little more while showing her that you're letting her in on something you keep for yourself. Note: Don't ever give up ALL of your secret hiding spots, though. Those are essential for any relationship to work.

Just make it indicative of the relationship. You also might want to consider a useful item. 15 dollar ipod dock with radio/clock/alarm? Gas card? Pushup bra, you know, if she's not all there. These sorts of things beg for a pretty night on the town too, though.

A potato.
2007-10-16, 8:08 PM #14
hmm...maybe not a potato...but how about an onion!
all good ideas...thanks all....
forgot to mention that I have known said girl for five years now and had always admired from afar...
i would say that this is a "love" relationship (love meaning that I would never hesitate to do what is in the best interest of the other party before my own)
((... a musician I am...but I'm a jazz musician and frankly i suck at composing...so sorry...thats not gonna work this time around))

What the hell is with replacing certain words with massassians!
Im finding it a bit odd now.

I'm surprised no one said "Jedi Knight" yet.

yeah man, take her out to dinner, and not at an expensive restaurant by default. Take her to a restaurant with good food and an enjoyable atmosphere, regardless of how upscale it is. Maybe learn to play a song she likes? She'll be glad for your effort, even if it's cheesy she'll know you tried to do something she really likes just for her.

Take her somewhere special, somewhere only you know about? Show her something that no one knows. You know what I mean?

Haha. Never mind that part then. Just make sure whatever you do is truly sincere. If you take her out, take her someplace special, get her something small but meaningful... Don't worry too much about the appearance of whatever you do. It matters between the two of you, and if you are sincere, what more can you do? If she thinks "ugh, he didn't take me out to three forks 200 dollar meal crown jewel steak and pasta gourmet cuisine bistro ristorante," then forgettt it

I think I'm beginning to hate the way you type. Not you, you seem like you have good intentions, but ellipses are like cigars. Once in a while, they work perfectly. Too often, and their novelty wears off and your mouth tastes like dog barf and horse poo.

Forgive me for my classic Massassi welcome wagon, but you have 13 posts, joined yesterday and came to a Star Wars website's forum to ask about your budding relationship with your girlfriend.

Your IP address doesn't match anybodies, but I'm leaning towards a mech.

I guess cuz you guyz are all getting curious on my intentions, i might as well spill it (not that its a huge deal or anything.)
I was hoping that by the tenth post we could have completely moved from my original topic and end this thread in a year or so with some 20,000 posts and we could all have a good laugh at Barold's © expense.
but now that this has gotten so serious, I guess I have failed (big surprise)
(more crying noises)
so lets just change the topic and get a move on, eh?
