What web browser do you use?

I really want to know,
I use Opera. I just love my tabs and saved sessions.

there's way too much information to decode the web-page. You get used to it, though. Your brain does the translating. I don't even see the html. All i see is blonde, brunette, redhead

Mostly Firefox, although I'm also partial to Konqueror.

Mostly Firefox. Often Epiphany, Links, or Dillo.

I find it odd that you two are the only ones in the thread that think that way, Well go ahead.

This thread is worth it simply for the anomalous no-IE-users-after-18-votes.

I use IE exclusively for Massassi, because it has a different icon to Firefox and I can spot it easily in the taskbar.

I use opera because I don't have to add and adjust a lot of extensions to make it work the way I want it too. Firefox is definitely my second choice but not my proffered choice.

My first choice on a purely interface based decision would be Slim Browser.
It's alot like opera but with a few small features like being able to close tabs just by double clicking them. And one big thing is a list of recently closed sites that is quicker to use than digging through your history and is not lost on exiting like opera's trash bin.
However, it's major draw back is that is uses the IE engine.
So it has all the problems that come with that.
which is why I don't use it any more.

Anyway... I'm sure that was way more info that yall wanted.

Not by default, but you go into Options > Main > Startup, and it's in the first drop down list there.

Tab Mix Plus for Firefox has the recently closed tabs thing, and you can change any of the click behaviors into whatever you want so double click can close a tab. It has almost too many options actually... but it can give you what you want on your tabbar, if it's only a new tab button, or if you want only one close tab button on the right, or if you want multiple rows of tabs instead of a scrolling list...

You've been able to close tabs by middle clicking them in Firefox for a LONG time.

I don't think this thread is pointless. I find it interesting that over 75% of Massassi poll responders prefer Firefox.

I use opera because it's really fast, easy to configure, and the interface has no lag whatsoever (unlike firefox). I use firefox at work to test our application, but other than that, Opera.
2007-10-20, 7:14 PM #21
Yeah, Opera is easily the fastest browser in terms of usability. Unfortunately Firefox's extensibility make it hard to ignore for many of us.

You know that you can open any link in a new tab by middle clicking it, though, right? :colbert:

Well seeing as how we've had this thread probably 100 times, and a good 1/3 of them have been from TE also, I find it pointless and droll and just stupid, useless spam.

Whatever.

Firefox.

Literally, any link. Almost anything that is clickable and leads to a URL in Firefox can be opened in a new tab with middle click. Middle click the home button, bookmarks toolbar buttons, anything from a third party extension, etc.

Can do that in opera.

Opera... only problem I have with it is that when I hit a media key, it does something on-browser... like if I hit the "next track" button, it scrolls down and moves to the next page, in addition to changing tracks... I haven't figured out how to make it stop doing that. :psyduck:

Should be a checkbox poll. I use Firefox, Camino, Safari, Opera and IE on almost a daily basis.

TE, I may suggest that you use Firefox because it includes a spell check function in it (like Word's).

Agreed on the checkbox thing, but anyway. I use both IE (well, MSN Explorer) and Firefox. Voted for Firefox because I basically use IE for Massassi and checking my University e-mail account, whereas I use Firefox for pretty much the rest of the internet.

I'll second that- especially since I voted for Firefox while posting from IE.

Apparently the M.I.S department @ Work doesnt feel the same way I do.

I hate that, if I really need to run javascript in a new tab I wind up duplicating the current before I hit the link.

Me too. I love Camino's prettiness. Izzy's taken over Firefox - it logs her into everything so I leave it for her and use those 2.
