cod4 anyone?

i won't be getting it right away 'cause i have to finish FEAR first. that's right. i said FEAR.
anyone getting this on the 6th?

cod4 looks really good as far as engine physics go. is it the first game to have projectile slowing due to environment (bullets pass through walls and slow based on the wall's properties)?

i have an x1600 pro and my friend has an asus 7600gt. his 7600gt doesn't have pixel shader 3.0 (as far as i can tell). should he cough up $175 for a new video card for pixel shader 3.0? he wants to have his graphics perform as well as they will. he's an eye candy guy on top of being a cod freak.

if the game is like bioshock and SC:DA, then yes he should, otherwise its literally unplayable for him.

bfg geforce 8500 gt (512 ddr2)($149), ati radeon 1650pro (512 ddr2)(on sale $129) or 1950pro (256 ddr3)(on sale $169)?

i'd suggest the 1650pro based on price and what you get and the price you pay.

I'll be getting it to tide me over until Mass Effect comes out. CoD4 looks like it should be an incredible game.

Is this the really futuristic one?

I don't think I could play another WWII game.

I was under the assumption that COD4 was just modern-day warfare.

Uhg. Equally as boring and unimaginative. :/

COD4 is slightly in the future, where a rogue Russian group has a nuke or something.

You have a 360, right? Why don't you pick it up for that?

Is the demo out on Live for COD4 yet? I haven't been on my 360 in awhile.

How different will this be than COD1,2,3? I really liked the style they had going on, and I sense a change that will make it ghey and like ghost recon.

The core gameplay is very similar to COD1-3, it's fast paced action, lots of run and gun gameplay.

There was a multiplayer beta a while ago, they really nailed multiplayer, I think this is a candidate for game of the year.

the x1950 is the most bang for your buck in that lineup there. i almost wish i had the cash for it right now.

this or this awesome too. the rebate on the second one makes it even better.
