I hadn't seen it mentioned here, so I thought I'd post it. Several people have actually gotten their free iPods already and posted about them on that site. Check this link out:

http://www.gearlive.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=240

It's not exactly a pyramid scheme, because you don't have to pay anything. You can choose an offer that doesn't cost you anything, like an AOL for Broadband trial that you cancel before being charged, or you can use the eBay option, for example. If you use the eBay option, you can bid on an item, and whether you win or not, that counts for your offer. So you can, for example, bid on something cheap that has a lot of bids and will likely be bid on again, and end up not paying anything. I bid on a mouse that I wouldn't mind having (MX500 red) that already had several bids. So if I win the auction I get a mouse, if I lose it I don't care that much. Anyway, I figured it was worth a chance of getting a free iPod, since there's no way I'd buy one. The reason I chose the eBay one is because you don't have to enter a credit card number.

Anyway, I was thinking maybe we could get a Massassi group for it going, but this site already has a group set up, so check it out if you are interested.

Of course, if you want to, you could just use my referral link directly. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=7521858 Then you could post yours here, and the next person could use that to sign up, and then post theirs here, and so on...

Well did you actually look at the link I posted or not? Before you say that you should read it. Like I said, several people have gotten theirs already. That's no guarantee that you will too, but since it doesn't cost anything to try, I figured, why not?

Ah, yes, I thought I had seen something here. Well, anyway, the link I posted is one of those organized lines, so I thought I'd give it a shot since it doesn't cost anything. Oh well.

How can they actually afford to do this... I would love to hear from a credible source (ie, one of you [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]) that it actually works. Maybe it isnt bogus...

They get a bonus for every offer people complete. The fact that most people fail to get 5 referalls means they make alot of cash. Think, if you get 2 people to do an offer, and they each get one or 2, the company is making a ton of money all over the nation. That, and I'm sure they're getting these ipods cheap

Yeah, one of the comments I read said that when people get five referrals and they have to send one out, they lose money; but when they get less than five, and no iPod, the company makes money.

If you really want to try to get one, I suggest you use the first link I posted, and try to get "in line," so-to-speak. Just spamming your referral link all over the place probably isn't going to get you anywhere.

Just for the hell of it, I sent an Email to the MaximumPC magazine Watch Dog section, in which they bust bogus operations and fly-by-night gigs. It will be intersting to see if they follow up in an upcoming magazine [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

I hope its real, I want a free IPod [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

finity, it's real. Use Google to search engadget.com for free ipod. They have a short article about it.

Aw, that's too bad, GoY. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif] Well, I just got outbid on the mouse, so now it won't cost me a cent to try to get the free iPod. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I haven't looked at the site, but couldn't you just create 5 hotmail/yahoo addresses and get 5 referals?

They check IP, so you'd have to use a proxy. But in theory, I could just go to the library or a friends house....

Hmm, it's like a pyramid scam except legal. You don't actually get screwed, and they can make money. And you can still get an iPod if you do it right...Interesting.

No, they only allow one "offer" per household. And after you get five completed referrals, they have a real person verify that they are five different people.

Wowsers. Look at this:

https://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/tools/order_status/

Put in:
Order number: S0700892
Zip code: 20001

That shows an order for $25,000 of iPods.

More info at http://freeipodguide.com/

Remember, if you want to do this, follow the first link I posted and get in line. If you just go straight to freeiPods.com, you won't be helping anyone else get theirs, and you won't find it easy to get people to help you get yours. Don't just spam your referral link.

Well, gee, thanks man. I actually wish you had signed up for the GearLive line, because you'd stand a better chance of getting one yourself than by just posting your referral link here. But thanks, and good luck. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]
