I just got a new HD for my computer and I had to reinstall windows and all that

anyway, when I tried to start internet explorer, it said there was no connection. It isn't the wire, because it works for other computers, so I don't know what the problem is. Tell me what to do guys

Ethernet adapter plugged in to everything properly? Router possibly?

It's plugged in

I just tried "repairing" the "1394 connection" and it said it couldn't "query the TCP/IP settings" and said I should "contact my administrator"

WHAT

1394 is not for internet. I think it's for...IR I believe...or is it firewire. Anyway, it's not that. Open up the system dialog (right click on my computer -> properties) and then head to the device manager. If you see "Ethernet controller" with a question mark, you do not have the device drivers installed.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I would say you need to go into network connections and set up a new connection.

1394 is firewire, that isn't what you need.

Chances are you need drivers for your network card.

On an interesting side note, I discovered on my laptop today that by disabling 1394, it also disables my wireless network card.

Which doesn't make any sense. But it makes me giggle.
