X-Box 360 + Networking help

I just got me a 360 and I want to set it up so I can use Live.

My computer has two ethernet ports, one of which is connected to the router. I want to connect the other ethernet port to the 360 and access the internet through that. But I don't really know the steps to take because i'm not a networking guru person.

When I try to test the connection it fails at the DNS stage.

You need to bridge the two connections. Highlight both ethernet connections in the Network Connections window. Right click, then click on Bridge Connections.

Or you could spend $10 and get a hub, so you can use the Xbox 360 when Windows isn't running.

Right click on your Network connection that your internet comes in through and go to properties, enable sharing. Connect your 360 to the other port using a crossover cable.

If you bridge the connection I'm pretty sure the PC stops having internet, which suxbad.

I vote for a hub, too, they're really cheap.

This is a guide to increase your wifi on your xbox 360. I hope this will be useful when you fix your problem using Live.

I read a tutorial in CPU magazine that does basically the same thing in a different way. It's extremely effective.
