I'm pretty sure he'll be disbarred.

But then he'll sue, saying he was only disbarred because of his position on gay rights.

He already sued to get the disbarment trial thrown out but he failed.

That doesn't mean anything.

Did he get George Bush to testify?

I read disbarred as dismembered. But. . .I guess disbarred is okay though :smith:
My blawgh.

Dismemberment would be more appropriate. But good. I doubt it will slow him down any though.
Pissed Off?

I heard about this, somehow I don't have much in the way of hope. I know nothing about legal issues, so what are the actual odds? Do they actually have a history of taking away lawyers licenses, or is this a song-and-dance for show?

Granted, with the gay porn that he included in one of his write-ups to a judge, I imagine the chances of him getting disbarred is better than most.

Don't give this guy any coverage. He's a waste of breath, and only exists because of our constant obsession with him. No one in law has ever taken him seriously except for the Ice T "Cop Killer" fiasco.

Normally I'd agree, but in this case we're talking about a story that will only discredit him. Considering how long he's been using his position as a lawyer to make his claims seem more credible, I'm okay with his disbarment being covered as widely as possible.

Besides, Thompson doesn't exist because angry gamers made him a controversial figure. He exists because angry moralists made him the spokesman for their belief that society is going to hell in a handbasket thanks to insert-cultural-phenomenon-here.

Thompson and the Florida Bar have been going back and forth 15 years now. I doubt it will end now.
