Graphics Tablets

I know there a lot of threads recently about technology products and what to buy... but here is one more.

My girlfriend is an artist and I'd like to get her a graphics tablet for Christmas. I've been looking at Wacom tablets, but I'm not familiar with the products. Some -ians have talked about theirs before, so some tips on what to look for when buying and recommendations on particular models would very helpful and appreciated.

That's a good point--thanks for reminding me. I'm willing to spend up to $300, maybe $350 if the next model up is really worth it.

Edit:
Also, I've been looking at the Wacom Intuos3 6x8, if anyone has any specific experiences with that one.

This seems to be good product by Wacom. The reviews are good and my friend also has one, which has been pretty faithful to him so far.

The Intuos3 6x8 would be a fantastic choice.
