pretty cool stuff.

Too bad it gets donated to the Useless Nations and not some non profit world help organization who actually DOES something.

Guarentee Koffe Annon probably has 30 or 40 sacks in his garage. :P

Most of those words are fairly easy to guess multiple choice, but most of them are also fairly useless. I prefer to learn words that are at least close to being inside the pale of modern usage, because those actually aid and enhance communication, and you don't end up looking like a pretentious prick for using a bunch of archaic synonyms.
2007-12-09, 1:28 PM #9
The thing is, if all they are is a complete synonym, then yeah, it would be pretentious to use them, but if they add something that fits better for what you're using it for then go for it. I think most of those words are not complete synonyms. Each word adds a little something different to the meaning.

wow, I totally forgot about this. it was making it's way around work a couple of weeks ago, going to the site now I'm on 6,880 grains on a vocab level of 37. I made it to 43 once, but can't sustain a 40+ level very long

"You have now donated
5540 grains of rice."

About half a days work.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

200 grains and I got bored and went to the fridge for some food.

I played it for about 3-4 hours and I raised 43,780 grains of rice with a best level of 45. :colbert:

How on earth? I'm sure I'd never manage to do it that fast

far more importantly - what happens when you get to 10,000 grains?

That's pretty impressive. Granted though, I was playing slowing cause I'm at work, so I'm... you know.. working.

Nothing. It says it's impressed and the screen clears (because there isn't enough room to have any more rice, and I guess the creators don't care to add a 10,000 icon.

It's only 2189 questions. The first 120 are 'free' for me.
2007-12-11, 10:18 AM #19
well that's deeply disappointing. I wanted a huge heap of rice to take out the whole screen or something. :(

but yeah, now Sarn mentions it, my slowness is mostly due to the fact that I do a fe words then go back to working for a couple of hours, lather, rinse, repeat

Bummer, I keep scraping into level 43 and get taken out by really unusual, often foreign, words.
I also have a bad feeling I've been misusing the word "equivocate" for a long time, I thought it meant to dishonestly compare or consider two things as similar. E.g. "He equivocated playing video games with being violent"

Edit: Damn! Level 48 and I got taken out by "wadi"
