I'd vote for a woman.. but hell no not hillary.

So with that being said, I guess my next best choice would be an african american guy. As long as he is not completely "F U CRACKA" ghetto.

If it matters any, we've already had a "disabled" president.

^^^^ I don't think FDR was struck with Polio yet when he first got elected. If/when he did get elected with polio, he was all ready riding on coattails.

Yes to both questions

Reasoning: Race > Religion in U.S. politics still but not by much. #1-5 have kind of an equal shot at it just because their gametes are XX and/or skin color is not white. It goes against the WAS[M]P (Male) president trend which many wish to break. While the whole "terrism!" thing is still fresh, if it can be proven unequivocably that candidate does not endorse nor has any ties whatsoever to radical Islam, I think s/he is electable. #9-10 have basically a snowball's chance in hell of getting elected today. Christianity's roots are deep in the nation and it going to take many, many hacks at them before people will have no qualms about voting for a gay candidate.

A woman is considered progressive and many would think it "good on" the US for electing a woman. Disabled is the same thing, though it depends on the disability. For example I will not vote for John McCain, as much as I respect him, I believe he is mentally Disabled. This opinion could change.

Ethnic Jews have a chance. If this refers only to the religion and does not include the Hebrew ethnicity, drop that **** to the bottom right above Muslim.

Hispanics are considered a "problem race" by too many people, along with Muslims to be elected. Blacks are as well but that is changing faster than the other two, which are quickly becoming more disliked.

*-Agnostic is close but both are not held in high regard in US society. I am ethnically a Jew on my father's side (so it doesn't count but I still got the looks a bit)

Please place a backslash on the right of any of the group(s) above that you would have a difficult time voting for.

FWIW, atheists usually rank right at the bottom of polls like this. I've never seen them ask about Muslims or gays though.

I'm sorry, but I can't see myself or any other decent, right-minded American voting for an individual falling into any of these categories. :colbert:

Ironic that i did a 10 page paper on FDR yesterday and yes, he dident have it when he was first elected. He aquired it in later life. Thats why when he gave his infumas "A day that will live..." Speach and he stands up, it was shocking to most people. O by the way i think that anything is possible, its what the "GOVERMENT" decides to LET win. ITs all a big fake set up, election. I think some people are forgetting here:
...no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.
Also, the 14th, 15th, and 19th Amendments.

But my rankings above stand the same.

There's a difference between official religious test and public opinion. They are two totally different things.

Wow, you think America would elect an atheist before a woman? You, sir, are clearly bonkers.

NOTE: My /s are conditional based on how closely the person resembles the most negative stereotype. Cheney and Clinton represent the worst their 'group' has to offer - seriously, a mincing, menacing, greedy, callous Jew and a woman who tries to prove she's strong to the point where she is mannish, but at the first sign of critcism plays the 'I don't know, I'm just a chick!' card - while I also think a man like Colin Powell represents the absolute best and he really should run for president.

I guess what I'm saying is that race only becomes an issue when it defines their character.
2007-12-11, 10:52 AM #34
Cheney is Jewish?
2007-12-11, 7:47 PM #35
He was on a Jewish Advisory board, but I can't find anything that really suggests he's religious otherwise. I would assume that means he is Jewish.
