I have no personal opinons about Ron Paul but a couple of my friends are but supporters of him.
Today was my graduation and there was a big screen up in the stadium that was showing the graduates up close as they came accross. As these two guys went accross the first one held up his palm to the camera and had written on it "VOTE" and the second guy did the same with "Ron Paul" on his.
It was probably the funniest thing I saw all day.

Anyway, just wanted yall to know that.

BTW, in (somewhat) response to the previous thread about Ron Paul and the gold standard, here is an interview with Jim Cramer (from Mad Money):

The number of people who say this makes me think that maybe the rest of his supporters should actually do a bit of research about their candidate.

Most of his supporters HAVE done their research. Heh, that's about the only way anyone can find out about him given the partisanship of the mainstream media. But honestly, it's not likely you are going to find a candidate that you agree with 100%. That's just how it is. You're going to find plenty of people that legitimately believe the government should spend a ton of money on social services (welfare, etc.) which Paul opposes.

Furthermore, it serves you no benefit to simply say "maybe the rest of his supporters should actually do a bit of research about their candidate". Such a statement, with all the support you've failed to provide, simply carries no weight and only indicates a strong bias. Please offer up some support for your statements.

But at least you aren't running around waving your pom-pons and focusing on a single issue (with no backup provided?) as Yoshi has. :P No offense, Yoshi -- but your post isn't telling me anything.

Question: which candidate will cause the US dollar to go down even more? That's who I support, because I like buying cheap electronics.

I mean sure it'd have a negative impact on our economy in the short term but we'll just start trading more with China. I hear they will pay good money for natural resources.

He thinks that anything the state is currently failing at will be solved by the church. That's not a non-issue. He wants to empower the churches to make decisions about people that no one should be able to make.

No, he wants to strip the government of power. He never said anything about empowering churches. When you strip the government of power, the importance of churches on society rises in comparison. For example, they'd be doing most of the charity work. You're just trolling for stupid things to nitpick.

The article that Kirby posted does nothing more than:

1. Confirm the government's inappropriate actions to suppress the influence of churches.

2. Confirm (once again) that Ron Paul opposes such suppression.

One of the main reasons America came to be was to escape religious oppression. As discussed in the article, the government has continuously made moves to hinder an individual's freedom to celebrate their religion.

Hahahaha...wait...what?

The government suppresses churches?

You know, I think I found a real reason I don't want to vote for this guy now.
